Bio
Dan Ryan's vision is of converting optimistic views to positive social change. In his role as the 2012 United Nations Youth Representative for Australia he embarked on a national listening tour before taking the views of Australian youth to a speech in the United Nations General Assembly in October. In his report back tour he focused on youth wellbeing and young people having a role in decisions that affect them.
Dan, 25, is the eldest of six children who were home schooled in suburban Adelaide. Dan has volunteered overseas in Cambodia, and been extensively involved in campaigns for Live Below the Line and Global Poverty Project. He has represented youth opinion at many conferences including One Young World 2011 Summit in Zurich, Switzerland and in 2012 in Pittsburgh, USA. He is a former Marketing Coordinator at Austraining International, which delivers the AYAD Program on behalf of AusAID.
