Bio

Ajay Shah Silver Lake Sumeru/Shah Capital/Altos Capital Mr. Shah joined the Silver Lake team in 2007 and is the co-founder and Managing Partner of the firm’s middle market private equity fund, Silver Lake Sumeru. Previously, he founded Shah Capital Partners and is a Principal of that firm. In addition, Mr. Shah is one of the Principals of Altos Capital Partners, an investment company. Previously, he founded and managed the Technology Solutions Business of Solectron, a $2 billion business. Mr. Shah was the co-founder/ CEO of Smart Modular Technologies, a company that he led through its public offering. Under his leadership the company grew to over $1 billion in revenues and was ultimately acquired for over $2 billion. Prior to that he was in senior roles for Advanced Micro Devices and Samsung Semiconductor. Currently, Mr. Shah serves on the Board of Directors of Velocity Technology, Opera Solutions, Alpha Petroleum, Cybera Inc., Merlin Solar, and is Chairman of the board of SMART Modular Tech. Outside of his investment activities, he is also on the boards of The National Audubon Society, a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum, serves on the board of The Indian School of Business and is a Trustee of the American India Foundation. Previously Mr. Shah has served on many public, private and non-profit boards such as Flextronics, Inc., Power One, Stanford Engineering School and KQED Public Television. He has a B.S. in Engineering from University of Baroda and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Stanford University.
