I launch bold new science programs that address some of the world’s toughest challenges. My company, Future Science Now, takes on projects that are at an inflection point where our unique knowledge of philanthropy + science can help launch something innovative that will drive new funding for science. My approach is bespoke. I advise philanthropists and science leaders, create new communities, host novel events, and work with our clients to tell clear, compelling stories about their science. At Future Science Now, we help our clients navigate the daunting path of support for complex science, instilling them with confidence to give more, faster, and mobilizing resources supporting scientific discoveries that will solve the most daunting problems of our time. Over the last 30 years, I’ve helped philanthropists navigate in new directions with confidence. My work advising science philanthropists has spanned multiple sectors and disciplines, catalyzing people and projects across biology, the physical sciences and medicine, and recently global health. My work has led to transformative new tools, such as the Human Cell Atlas, Giant Magellan Telescope and Convergent Research’s Focused Research Organizations. In addition, I’ve advised ultra-high net-worth individuals and foundations often during the earliest stages of setting up their science programs, including Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and Schmidt Futures. My work has spawned new communities of funders and launched the Science Philanthropy Alliance, catalyzing more than $1billion of new funding for basic science research.
