Bio
I am a co-curator for TEDxSingapore and TEDxSingaporeWomen.
Whether it's travelling, through work or through TEDx, meeting different people and getting a new perspective really makes me happy. I've been lucky enough to have lived in a variety of countries - such as Canada, the UK and Singapore - and visited many more, where I try to really get enlightening experiences.
I'm passionate about communities, the benefits the right ones can bring and if I had one wish it would be for people to be more open to making connections. In my opinion, the world would be a better place if more people had more (rational) conversations.
Above all, I am passionate about the natural world having grown-up in the countryside, volunteered at nature reserves and now I try to spend as much time in nature as possible in Singapore, particularly trail running. I am currently thinking about how to make the most difference to save the miracles of nature for future generations.
My favourite TED speakers are Brene Brown & Hans Rosling, but really it's hard to choose.
I'm passionate about
Community building
The Environment & Natural World (and animals)
Discovering and sharing positive experiences
Fitness & wellness
Travel (responsibly)
An idea worth spreading
Factfulness and critical thinking (as promoted by Hans Rosling)
In today's world and rapid media, it's more important than ever to be able to objectively assess any information you receive before deciding how to react.

The TED story
I couldn't tell you the first time I ever watched a TED talk, but I can tell you that ever since I first learned about TED it made such an impression on me. The idea that anyone (theoretically) with a good idea could be given this massive platform to share it is so, so powerful. I wanted more than anything to play a part in helping people doing good things to tell their stories.
When I moved to Singapore I was lucky enough to get a chance, becoming a volunteer in the team running social media for the TEDxSingapore event 2015 'Undiscovered Country' after being introduced by one of my Hootsuite colleagues. It was an awesome event, so very inspiring having both local and international speakers. And the volunteers who put in such time and effort to bring the events to life make me feel very humble. And it was here I got to see Hans Rosling speak, and whose message really inspires me to this day.
Since then, I have been a co-curator for a number of TEDxSingapore and TEDxSingaporeWomen events - as well as helping to arrange community sessions to connect the many local fans of the talks.
We have our upcoming TEDxSingaporeWomen event in December, and I can't wait to keep helping spread great ideas.
