Gerry is currently a Strategic Advisor with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the worlds largest global technology and business transformation companies. He is also Executive Advisor with Mindbridge AI, one of Canada’s most successful AI and machine learning companies. Gerry is a board member with Currency Research, an international payments conference and consulting company. Gerry is the former President and CEO of Payments Canada, where he oversaw changes to its governance and board structure, developed a strategy to modernize Canada’s payments systems, tripled the size and capacity of the organization to deliver on the strategy, and brought the industry together to establish a collective vision and delivery roadmap for the payments ecosystem. Prior to that, Gerry held a number of executive roles at the Bank of Canada, including Chief of Currency, where he was responsible for Canada’s new polymer banknote series, Chief of Banking Operations, where he led the redevelopment of the core banking systems, and Chief of Corporate Services, where he led the transformation of all internal corporate functions and services. Gerry has been a member of the International Council of Payment Association Chief Executives, a founding member of P7, a group of 11 Asia Pacific payment entities, and the chair of the Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group, comprised of 32 countries. He was a director of two public companies - Fortress Global Enterprises and Landqart AG. He was a member of an international business ethics accreditation council, based in London. He also co-led the flagship executive leadership program at the Gestalt International Study Center in Massachusetts and co-founded AdAstra, a Canadian charity organization. Gerry was a member of a 2005 Canadian Everest expedition. He holds an MBA and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
