Bio

I am an Anglo-Italian artist who engages with the public to reflect their lives organically through art making. My work is made through combining found materials with emotive expression, not only changing the materials’ everyday function but the material’s potential. I nurture a deeper level of meaning-making through this process. I up-cycle objects, use natural materials, draw, paint, move, photograph, write and make installation; it’s a truly multidisciplinary practice. I see myself as an artist of provocation, expression, communication and play with societal constructs. I share power from me, the materials and the people I meet. I encourage challenging perception and self-belief. Consequently, this generates necessary dialogue to explore personal experience as well as wider community discourse and addressing the need to be heard.

I'm passionate about

I'm passionate about enabling the creation a world that openly accepts everyone's identity and valuing everyone's diversity.

An idea worth spreading

"The need to be creative" We are creators, choice-makers and story-makers of our day. Somehow, we put aside our uniqueness and forget about the power we actually have to create. We need to reach our potential by being creative, striving to repair the social bond within us, between us, through the language of being.

The TED story

Last year, in my final year of university in South Wales, I stumbled upon the first TEDxUSW auditions for the speakers; I decided there and then to talk about my ideas! The room was filled with passionate people that were there to listen, which encouraged me to put myself out there to seize the moment. I later found out that I was selected to speak at TEDxUSW "Unleash Your Colours" and delved into the process of developing my dream talk. When the event came, I was inspired by feeling part of a community of people that care about sharing ideas and still value a different one the same amount. My talk was about the beauty of connections in everyday life, be it within yourself or between people. I supported my idea by painting a large roll of paper with chalk, pastels and paint, using everyday objects to print patterns on. It was truly a celebration of a bonding experience shared between everybody. This year I have chosen to take part in TEDx as a volunteer for USW and Nantymoel. For TEDxNantymoel "2020" I will be producing the creative aspects of the event, such as: props, venue decore, set design, interactive artworks. For both events I will be supporting their running by working with the team of volunteers and speakers and help when is needed. I am thrilled to be part of a team that wants to make the speakers dream realised and satisfied. I understand the pressure that one is put through when going on that stage with a red dot, so I will be encouraging each member of the team to make sure it runs smoothly in every way. TEDx HERE WE COME!
