An idea worth spreading
Anaerobic digesters - Process manure and abattoir waste with digesters to reduce carbon emissions, produce electricity, recycle cow bedding, produce algae for biodiesel from liquid effluent, return fertility to the fields, create mineral fertilizer from struvite deposits, provide warm berms to grow salad greens and other vegetables, grow mushrooms, provide heat and space for a greenhouse, avoid fines from manure spills, help clean the community by accepting yard waste, and make the farm a place people like to visit with the reduced smell and increased product variety.
Areas of expertise
Permaculture
The TED story
From a cane field in Haiti to Silicon Valley data centers, I have focused on how to create and deploy knowledge to help people better themselves. I am now pursuing a PhD in Sustainability Education at Prescott College to improve this practice of applied epistemology. As always, I will consider how we know what we know and how we can apply that knowledge to do better, in sustainable business, local food systems, fact-supported communication, and egalitarian education. I believe we have a great opportunity and responsibility to educate both young people and our incarcerated fellow humans to become productive citizens, fully responsible for themselves and contributing unique value to our communities. Our greatest possible future includes ALL of us. Food is freedom; grow your own.
