Bio

I want to learn as much as possible about as many things as possible! Meet great people! share great ideas! Have long random discussions and debates!

I'm passionate about

Health & Fitness, Startups & Entrepreneurship, Nature & Evolution, Random Discussions & Debates, Movies, and of course everything TED (especially TEDxMcGill)

An idea worth spreading

You are what you eat! Convenience, when combined with a lack of education, has taken precedence over health. A growing number of people have almost no knowledge about nutrition and how it affects their daily quality of life. However, it is the most basic building bloc of human beings and any other living creature. It is our fuel for life. And like a car filled with bad quality fuel, we are damaging our organs, decreasing our performance (physical and mental), and hampering our human potential. We cannot blindly delegate decisions about our nutrition and health to your average doctor, or even worse to big agra (i.e. Agricultural industry). We have a responsibility towards our body and towards our children to learn at least the basics about nutrition and spread that knowledge.

The TED story

Love at first sight? or something like it. It didn't take me much to get hooked on it. This story started with a random encounter: a TED talk on the web. My first. Intrigued, I watched! It only took me about 18 minutes to watch my second, third ... and as they say, the rest is history. Fast forward 6 months, Pangea Day came about (TED wish 2006). I knew I had to get on board, thus my first TED event was created: a small gathering of 20-30 people at my place watching Pangea Day streamed live and projected on my white wall with 2 modest speakers! Fast forward a few years, I decided to take it a step further with TEDxMcGill 2010: 1 full-day, 600 attendees, 18 speakers. November 2010.

Things you might not know

I have an unsatisfiable curiosity, always tinkering with stuff to understand their inner workings (both physical devices and intangible ideas, behaviors, concepts etc.)
