Iain has worked with public and private sector clients over the last 10 years to help them improve business practices. Since moving to Canada in 2012, Iain has been focused on the discipline of Infrastructure Asset Management – supporting organizations to deliver improved value to their stakeholders by better managing their infrastructure investments. This position leverages Iain’s experience as a business and process professional with his ability to communicate with a senior management, financial experts, engineers, operators and customers. He has proven himself as a valuable delivery resource capable of leading work on the various pillars of Asset Management, including writing Asset Management Plans (AMPs), Capital Investment Planning, AM Policy, Customer Level of Service Frameworks and Public Consultation. He also has experience leading organizations through the cultural change elements of Asset Management implementation programs through change management and communication efforts.

Infrastructure assets like roads, water systems, recreation centres, libraries are the backbone of our day to day lives. Yet, it's falling apart all around the world because we are not looking after it. And it's about to have a major effect on our quality of life...if it's not already. As members of the public, we need to develop a better understanding of what infrastructure assets we are dependent on, and what it truly costs to maintain those. Not just for today, but for future generations. As infrastructure owners, we need to look longer term and plan for the necessary interventions and investments we need to make. Be service and system focused. Being proactive and not reactive. Talk to the public you serve about what services they want and are willing to pay for. As governments and public agencies, we need to develop appropriate public policy and support for infrastructure owners to lend a hand advancing practices and fair financial aid. All this aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, ISO55000 and other recognized best practices.
