Bio
I am OCTO Technology co-founder and CTO since 1998. We are a mid-size European IT consulting company dedicated to continuous improvement of organizations. In 2005, I founded OCTOPUS, the first Open Source Management Information System (MIS) for the Micro Finance industry. This platform hosts a world wide community of knowledge in Lean and Agile methods, applied towards a better affordability of financial services to the poorest.
I am a writer and a speaker, and notably the author of « Une Politique pour le Système d’information – Descartes, Wittgenstein, (XML) », published in 2005.
I'm passionate about
technology, organizational patterns, history, micro finance, learning
An idea worth spreading
Organizations can achieve great results if they use the technologies to simplify expert work and empower their employees with those new capacities, creating autonomy and responsibility. Such a process can be called "the gift of the specialist" or "decreasing of the commons", avoiding the widespread "tragedy of the commons". It works with all transversal activities such as Human Resources, Accounting or Purchasing ... but requires a new social deal : suppress your job, and you're promoted (rather than laid off). Most of the micro finance institutions who use Octopus Micro Finance Suite have initiated such a continuous improvement process.
