Bio
Jessica Anne Schwartz, born in New York City and raised in Tenafly, New Jersey, is known for her prolific multidisciplinary work ranging from sculptures and large scale installations to paintings and drawings. Jessica attributes the diversity of her output to what she refers to as a veritable population residing inside of her. Others have described her as an entire artist collective living in a single body. Watch her short documentary “Jessica Anne Schwartz, Population” for more about her and her work.
Jessica’s work is held and exhibited in private and public collections. An article by renowned writer Lawrence Weschler on her painting sequence “Single Serving” recently ran in the Paris Review. Jessica’s studio is located in Chelsea. Of late, she has created three large-scale sculpture installations at the Silvertip Ranch inside Yellowstone Park, a series of bee paintings, and two artist’s books based on her synaesthesic response to the voices of Alan Watts and Oliver Sacks.
