Yunsun Chung

Design educator, practitioner and TASMENA Harbor Master, Yunsun Chung-Shin is currently an assistant professor in the Art and Design Department at the Zayed University in Dubai, UAE. She has earned her BFA degree in Visual Communication Design from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea and MFA in Multimedia Graphic Design from Indiana State University. She designed several interactive educational CD-ROMs which have been nationally and internationally awarded and published. She worked in the e-learning industry for 8 years serving clients including IBM, Coke, Lilly and Company, universities as a designer and freelancer designing and developing online learning tools. She also founded her design company, Seedmine, based at San Diego, California servicing international clients from 2001-3 before teaching graphic design and digital media courses in the Department of Art at Eastern New Mexico University from 2003-6. In addition to her dedication to design education, Yunsun co-founded TASMENA, an open sanctuary for designers to explore new frontiers in holistic design solutions for the MENA region. Yunsun also maintains a strenuous focus in research activities to initiate sustainable design solutions in the region leading sustainable design workshops using dynamic media internationally. She is dedicated to creating a sustainable design ecology that can serve the communities as passionately educating young designers.
