People inspire me. I have a firm belief the people are inherently good and I often find myself amazed in the stories I hear people tell and the things I see people accomplish despite all odds. Moreover, as Sarah Kay so eloquently put in her TED talk "If I should have a daughter","On a scale from one to over trusting...I am pretty damn naive" and I proudly admit to this being one of my vices. I believe in people and their innately valuable spirits and also the way that life can find a way to make connections with those you never thought you could or would. This "optimism bias", as Tali Sharot calls it, has led me to raise my expectations of myself and those around me and I am forever surprised by the wonderful things I witness growing around me. I have this visceral urge to create a life beyond myself and make connections with my community and immerse myself in the excitingly unfamiliar. TED inspires me to do that.
