Bio

Dr. Ojoung Kwon is a Professor and Chair of Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department at the California State University-Fresno. He holds a BS in Electronics Engineering, an MS in IC (Chip) Design & Manufacturing, and an MBA with MIS specialization. He received a Ph.D. in Management Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Alabama in 1991. Prior to teaching at the Craig School of Business, Dr. Kwon was an associate professor at the University of Illinois-Springfield where he taught 11 years and developed and delivered four fully online graduate MIS courses (Database, Expert Systems, Decision Support Systems, and Project Management) via UI-Online. Dr. Kwon's teaching interests are database management systems, data warehousing and mining, business intelligence, and cyber-security. Dr. Kwon has conducted various high caliber research projects with a number of organizations, including AT&T, General Motors, Alabama Power Company, Amdahl Communications, Illinois Division of Oral Health, US Department of Transportation, Administrative Office of Illinois Courts, and Strategic Missile Commander (MICOM). His research interests are in the areas of collaborative technologies, intelligent software agents, e-business solutions, data warehousing and mining, intelligent project management support systems, neural networks applications, and knowledge management systems. He invented one of the first virtual meeting systems, CyberCollaboratory, with two research partners in 1998. He has numerous publications and presentations; received many grants, fellowships, and awards; and listed in the Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in Science.
