Bio

Geof started his professional career with Tomy Toys, as their first American designer. He created several successful toys, (Strolling Bowling, Funny Football, Silly Sumo and Goofy Golf,) before leaving to develop products independently. The first one to take off was the Stifneck™ Collar, which in a matter of years had become the pre-hospital industry standard. In 1981, California Medical Products was a virtual company, before the term became fashionable. With it's sole product assembled by handicapped workers in a sheltered workshop, CMP had only 2 employees for several years. Geof now heads up the R&D team at Aspen Medical Products as well as being responsible for clinical research. Aspen's products have won numerous awards and are backed by the most extensive research in the industry. Aspen has also won recognition as one of the best small companies to work for in California. Geof has also taught a design class at Long Beach State, and been an Odyssey of the Mind Coach.

An idea worth spreading

Kids need to work with their hands to develop certain aspects of their brains. Playing an instrument, working with shop tools or with mechanics tools, even building models, directly impacts brain development. As a country we are losing the creativity we need by not ensuring that our kids have access to these types of activities.
